The American Association of Professional Farriers (AAPF) (and its sister organizations–the Canadian Association of Professional Farriers (CAPF) and International Association of Professional Farriers (IAPF)) Board of Directors–welcomed four new board members at the 2016 AAPF Annual Meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In addition, Steve Prescott, CJF APF, of Raleigh, North Carolina, will take over the AAPF presidency from outgoing president Dave Farley, CF APF, of Coshocton, Ohio, and Wellington, Florida. Prescott will serve a two-year term as president.

“It is an honor and privilege to take over the leadership reins of this great association,” stated Prescott. “I am committed to following the footsteps planted by my predecessors and hope that many more farriers will find the AAPF as a resource for enhancing their careers.”

The four new board members include Mike Bagley, CJF II APF, of Canton, Ohio; Brent Brow,n APF, of Northport, Maine; Luke Farmer, APF, of Murillo, Ontario; and Cathy Lesperance, APF, of Fergus, Ontario. All have extensive backgrounds of working in leadership positions within the AAPF/CAPF/IAPF.

Retiring Board of Directors include Dave Dawson, APF, of Uxbridge, Ontario, and Jeff Ridley, CJF, TE, APF, of Leighton, Iowa. Dave and Jeff are both founding members of the Board of Directors. Jeff is also the founding president of the AAPF/CAPF/IAPF.

Returning Board of Directors include Adam Wynbrandt, APF (Vice President), of Sacramento, California; Roy Bloom, CJF, APF (Treasurer), of Drummond, Wisconsin; Curtis Burns, APF, of Wellington; Tim Cable, APF, of Blasdell, New York; James Gilchrist, APF, of Wellington; Mike Hayward, APF, of San Martin, California; and Shane Westman, APF ,of Bow, Washington.

Serving on the Board requires attendance at two face-to-face meetings, monthly conference calls and serving as a liaison to at least one committee or task force.
