The Pennsylvania National Horse Show is pleased to announce increased prize money and FEI designation for the 2016 Pennsylvania National Horse Show. The horse show’s three FEI classes will all be designated as a CSI3*. In addition, the 2016 Prix de Penn National will offer increased prize money of $100,000–up from $85,000 in 2015. The Grand Prix will be held October 22–the final day of the 2016 Pennsylvania National Horse Show.
The Pennsylvania National Horse Show is one of the largest and most prestigious horse shows in the country. Home to eight national championships, including the Pessoa/US Hunter Seat Medal Final and the Neue Schule/USEF National Junior Jumper Individual and Team Championships, the horse show is the launching ground for many future Olympians. With ten days of competition, 15,000 spectators, 1400 competitors and 1,000,000 live feed viewers, the event showcases the best in the sport.
“Increased status and prize money is necessary to keep up with a very busy show jumping calendar. Riders have a lot more choices and the changes hopefully will produce a nice turnout of top notch Grand Prix athletes for our Harrisburg spectators to enjoy,” said Peter Doubleday, Co-Manager of the Horse Show.

The horse show is also the site of great shopping with 70 vendors featuring clothing, antiques, art work, jewelry and equestrian products. Proceeds from the horse show benefit community equine and youth programs through the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation.
