Young Event Horse Evaluation Symposium Returns in 2016

The USEA is excited to announce the return of the landmark educational opportunity for those interested in breeding, handling, buying, riding and evaluating young event horses. A two-day “Evaluation of the Young Event Horse Prospect” symposium will be held in Ocala, Florida on February 22-23, 2016.

A third day will be offered on Wednesday, February 24, for licensed officials looking to become Future Event Horse (FEH) or Young Event Horse (YEH) certified, and for current FEH/YEH judges looking for a refresher.

As part of the USEA FEH and YEH programs, this comprehensive overview of evaluating youngsters for Eventing will feature many world renowned young horse experts, judges and veterinarians such as Susan Graham White, Marilyn Payne, Robin Walker, Doctors Gareth and Shauna Spurlock, professional handler Phil Silva, Olympic medalist Leslie Law, top German rider Kai-Steffen Meier, and more!

Attendance will cost a small fee of $25 for USEA members, and non-members will be asked to pay the full $50 attendance fee. The classroom portions will be held each morning at the beautiful Clubhouse in the elite new facility at the Ocala Jockey Club. The afternoon live horse demonstrations will return to Betsy Watkins’ beautiful Longwood Farm South.

A hotel room block has been set up at the Holiday Inn & Suites Ocala, so contact Kate Lokey for the room block code, and to register for the symposium. Pre-registration is encouraged as slots may fill up as they did in 2015.

The winter is a great time to hone in on your skills in evaluating young stock! We hope to see you there.
