AQHA Renews Corporate Support of Kentucky Reining Cup

The Kentucky Reining Cup, which returns to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, April 25-27, is very proud to announce the renewal of the corporate sponsorship relationship between the event and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Returning as a featured sponsor for the Saturday evening World Championship Freestyle Reining, AQHA will once again present the opening ceremony for that special performance. AQHA has been a corporate sponsor of the event since its inception four years ago, and offers the Kentucky Reining Cup excellent exposure to the more than 270,000 members of AQHA. In addition to the people who make up AQHA’s membership, the vast majority of elite Reining horses at the Kentucky Reining Cup are registered American Quarter Horses. AQHA is the largest equine breed registry in the world with more than five million horses.

As the most high-profile event of the qualifying year for the FEI World Equestrian Games, the Kentucky Reining Cup offers a three-star $35,000 FEI Concours de Reining International (CRI3*), the $50,000 Kentucky Reining Cup Team Challenge, the $20,000 World Championship Freestyle Reining and an additional $15,000 for the Adequan/USEF National Open Reining Championship & Official Selection Trial for the US Reining Team at the FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG). Total prize money for the three-day event is a staggering $120,000.

The United States has won the team gold medal at every WEG since the inclusion of the sport of Reining in the FEI family in 2000, and they return to the international stage with their sights set on defending that title. As a result, the Reining industry, and indeed the entire equestrian community turns its eyes to the Kentucky Reining Cup to watch the US team take shape.

A true leader in bringing the sport of Reining to international status, AQHA is dedicated to promoting and encouraging the development of the sport of Reining. The focus is on supplying the best horses with the finest bloodlines suitable for a high standard of performance within the sport and especially at the high-performance level offered by the FEI.
