BioStar LLC Becomes the Newest Member of the American Sustainable Business Council

BioStar LLC, an equine and canine supplement company is starting the year off with a total rebranding effort and a great many things to announce, starting with becoming the newest member of the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC).

Under the belief that horses and dogs have thrived for thousands of years without processed food and synthetic additives, BioStar has set the standard in equine and canine supplementation. Commercial processed feeds have simply become large bags of synthetic additives with some food and sweeteners thrown in. In contrast, BioStar supplements are formulated to provide the necessary nutrients lacking in commercial feed through whole foods sourced sustainably. Because of their dedication to further expand their efforts in debunking popular myths and education relating to sustainability, they have joined forces with the American Sustainable Business Council.

“I realized that Biostar was not doing enough. If we as a company are truly going to stand for healthy food, healthy soils, healthy horses and dogs, then we need to step up our game. We need to become activists and be the change in our industry. We’re the first company centered in the equestrian world to take such steps to not only verify the sustainability of our ingredients through the Non-GMO Project, but we took the step to join the ASBC as well. ASBC is a driving force in this country to help make new policies in the government, push education to consumers, and be caretakers to the environment around us which is in such a fragile state,” said Tigger Montague of BioStar. “I look forward to taking our laurels to the next level.”

“We’re excited to be working with BioStar on our federal and state-based sustainable agriculture and GMO Labeling initiatives,” said Richard Eidlin, ASBC’s Policy Director and Co-Founder. He added, “BioStar’s commitment to the triple bottom line–people, profit and planet–is fully aligned with the goals of ASBC.”

“BioStar will be participating in monthly round-table conference calls with other company council members, and as BioStar’s representative to the Council, I will be making trips to Washington, D.C., to meet with senators and congressmen to tell them “our” story. The story of the epidemic of metabolic horses, the epidemic of ulcers in horses, the epidemic of GI tract inflammation and the rise of allergies in horses and dogs,” said Tigger. “But this one step is not enough. We hope to achieve the ability for further outreach in regards to research and legislative information pertaining to GMOs (genetically modified organisms), glyphosate, other herbicides, the micro-biome, pollinators, restoring pasture health and vitality, sources for organic hay, organic grains, and so much more. It is time to make a stand and take action for the health of the planet, and all who dwell here.”

BioStar US holds the belief that non-synthetically derived ingredients (whole food) has positive effects on health and wellness. They support the whole food and organic food movement, and strive to bring the highest quality products to horses and dogs alike. BioStar US uses a unique system that dehydrates their formulas and bars which takes place at low temperatures to maintain nutrient and enzyme levels similar that of raw food. Providing organic, GMO-free, coal tar derivative-free, petro-chemical free, wheat free supplements that contain no artificial sweeteners or other synthetic ingredients is why BioStar is the leader of whole food supplementation in the equine industry.
