Early Bird Tickets are on sale now for Breyer’s 27th fan festival and horse fair, BreyerFest Carnival, to be held July 22-24, 2016, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. The fun, family festival dedicated to model horses, the real horses that inspire Breyer’s models and horse lovers of all ages, will celebrate the ‘brio’ of Rio’s Carnival and Brazil’s equine heritage, in tribute to the host country of the 2016 Olympic Games!
BreyerFest has broken attendance records and sold out in each of the last two years. BreyerFest Carnival is expected to welcome more than 12,000 attendees, 300 horses and thousands of model horses for the three-day festival! It is the second-largest event held annually at the Kentucky Horse Park, has been recognized as one of the South’s top festivals, and is a significant economic contributor to the City of Lexington. BreyerFest’s Early Bird ticket pricing offers significant savings and maximum value on three-day tickets, and includes the BreyerFest Celebration Horse model! Early Bird tickets are available thru April 15.
Most importantly, BreyerFest celebrates horses! Breyer welcomes its first ever Mangalarga Marchador (the national horse of Brazil) as BreyerFest Carnival’s Celebration Horse this year. Imperador das Aguas JM, a stunning, 2010, grey stallion imported from Brazil by owner Claudia Bellandi of C&C Bellandi Horse Racing at Oak Bell Farm will be the 2016 BreyerFest Celebration Horse. Renowned sculptor Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig created a new sculpture for Breyer of Imperador to be introduced exclusively at BreyerFest. Each three-day ticket holder will receive a Breyer Traditional model of Imperador at BreyerFest. Then the mold will be retired to the Breyer Vault and not available again in the U.S. until 2019!
Breyer will introduce the real horses who inspire our portrait models at BreyerFest too. Meet Special Guests like Breyer Portrait Model Hickory Hills Wall Street, an adorable miniature donkey from Hickory Hill Donkey Farm; and Magic Elixir of Amethyst Acres representing his mother, Breyer Portrait Model Rhapsody in Black, to name just a few!
Working Equitation is taking the horse world by storm and BreyerFest is keeping pace with a dynamic demonstration by international champion Diablo DC of Waller Farms and Endo, a blind horse that successfully competes with his owner Morgan Wagner showing the inspirational bond of trust between horse and rider. Other guests to be announced!
BreyerFest will launch its inaugural 5K Run this year from which a portion of the proceeds will benefit Old Friends Thoroughbred Horse Retirement. Additionally, BreyerFest will now offer a choice of two magical evenings of choreographed equine entertainment! BreyerFest’s Celebration of Horses takes place on Friday and Saturday evening and will feature top equine entertainers including Sylvia Zerbini (formerly of Cavalia), KYB Dressage and friends. The shows take place at the Alltech Arena with full theatrical lighting and music and pre-event activities on the concourse. Tickets are included with each three-day ticket. Upgrades will be available to single day ticket holders and a limited number of seats to just the show are also available.
BreyerFest is a unique equestrian event because it offers so many activities for attendees to see, touch and experience horses close up. Activities include three days of exciting live horse demonstrations featuring some 300 horses of many breeds, meet- and-greets with special equine guests, pony rides, a petting zoo, 65-booth Trade Fair, a Breyer super store filled with models created especially for BreyerFest, a Craft and Activity Center filled with a variety of free crafts, face painting and story-telling, model horse displays and shows, workshops and free seminars. Don’t miss the Tonka Fun Zone and the Eastern Regional Splash Dogs Championships! All BreyerFest tickets include access to activities and museums at the Kentucky Horse Park too!
