Sept. 18, 2013 — Since its inception in 2005, SonRise Equestrian Foundation has made its home at the Charles Wilhelm Training facility in Castro Valley, California. Wilhelm has worked with the program for the past eight years, helping to ensure the safety of the horses and minis that are used to serve the children.
SonRise Equestrian Foundation is a non-profit organization guided by Christian-based values that makes a positive difference for youth living with social, emotional or physical challenges, including terminal illness. Participating children develop confidence, integrity and responsibility through mentoring and peer relationships centered around the care and enjoyment of horses.
SonRise offers three different programs to children age 6-18, free of charge. In order to fund the free programs, each year SonRise hosts an auction fundraiser “Wine & Equine.” This year’s event, “Denim & Diamonds,” will be held on Sept. 28, 2013 at 5:30 p.m., at the Roundhill Country Club in Alamo, California. The event features a gourmet dinner, wine by Wente, a live and silent auction, line dancing and will be emceed by ABC 7’s meteorologist Mike Nicco.
Tickets to the event are $125 and are available on SonRise’s website. Charles Wilhelm will be in attendance with his wife Anne, and you may even catch him line dancing.
Please join Charles in support of this worthy cause.
