June 5, 2013 -- EQUUS and Bayer Animal Health present a free webinar on Fly Control on the Horse Farm/Ranch with Doug Ross, PhD (entomology). This webinar will present information on problem flies and their control on horse farms and ranches on June 13, 2013, starting at 8 p.m. EDT.
Ross will talk about flies as pests and give an overview of the different types of flies that annoy and bite horses. Focusing on house flies and stable flies, he will highlight the problems these flies cause and their biology, which is important knowledge for successful control. The different components of an integrated fly control program will be presented, and the use of some specific fly control products will be discussed.
Ross received his PhD in Entomology from the University of Georgia. He has worked research and development for several animal health companies, including Bayer Animal Health (since 2006) and Farnam Companies, Inc. (for 12 years). He has been closely involved in the development and registration of over a dozen products for the control of insects on horses, livestock, poultry and their premises.
