FEI, LAUSANNE (SUI) -- MAY 4, 2012 --The inaugural FEI Sports Forum, which opened on 30 April in the Olympic capital Lausanne (SUI) for three days of discussion to help shape the future of equestrian sport, has now moved online.

The dedicated online platform, which can be accessed here, is designed to ensure that ideas continue to be shared before proposed rule changes are sent to the National Federations prior to voting at the FEI General Assembly, which will take place in Istanbul (TUR) on 5-8 November 2012.

“The FEI Sports Forum has been invaluable to all members of our community”, said Ingmar de Vos, FEI Secretary General.

“We have had tremendous feedback on the content and the debate it generated during the Forum itself, and we are now looking forward to continuing these constructive discussions online.

“The online forum is open to everyone in the international equestrian community and we welcome all ideas and thoughts as we head towards the General Assembly, which will govern the overall direction, development and management of the FEI’s disciplines throughout the world for the coming year.”

Over 280 delegates from 39 National Federations, Event Organisers, International Clubs representing Riders, Officials, Organisers, Trainers and Owners, members of the FEI Technical Committees, veterinarians, sponsors, media, sports marketing and PR agencies, charities, not-for-profit organisations, scientific enterprises, breeding centres and educational institutions attended the FEI Sports Forum.

The full list of participants and presentations given during the Jumping and Veterinary sessions and the Endurance and Eventing Round Table discussions can be viewed here, and a wrap-up of the inaugural FEI Sports Forum can be watched on the FEI YouTube Channel here.
