Kentucky Horse Park Foundation Partners with Noble Outfitters

The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation is pleased to announce its newly formed partnership with equine apparel company Noble Outfitters. Noble Outfitters has graciously agreed to sponsor the Kentucky Horse Park Mustang Troop by providing its participants with riding apparel, including boots, gloves and socks.

The Kentucky Horse Park Mustang Troop, an outreach program of the Kentucky Horse Park, pairs at-risk youth with Mustangs adopted from the Bureau of Land Management. Now in its 20th year, the Mustang Troop carefully selects 12 at-risk students each year through a competitive application process. The students spend the entire summer at the park, learning to care for horses, practicing drills and preparing for public appearances. Their efforts continue into the school year with monthly Saturday sessions.

Throughout the life of the program, students have performed at a number of impressive events, including presidential and gubernatorial inaugurations, community parades and national conferences. More importantly, participating students have been introduced to the therapeutic benefits of horses.

The Kentucky Horse Park Mustang Troop is fully funded by private donations raised through the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, and the foundation seeks funding from a variety of sources, including corporations, private foundations and individuals. The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation is committed to ensuring that the program is administered at no cost to its participants and seeks to provide transportation, meals, equipment and clothing.

Noble Outfitters’ generous donation ensures the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation’s ability to provide the best experience possible for its young troopers.

“The Kentucky Horse Park Mustang Troop is truly one of the park’s most important programs, yet it seems to also be one of its most vulnerable ones,” said Laura Klumb, Kentucky Horse Park Foundation Executive Director. “As it must be supported by private donations, partnerships like this one are essential to the future of the Mustang Troop. We are so grateful to our friends at Noble Outfitters for recognizing the therapeutic benefits of horses and for becoming a proud sponsor.”

Kelsie Costa, president of Noble Outfitters, added, “Through our Noble Tomorrow program, Noble Outfitters is strongly committed to strengthening values and providing meaningful learning experiences through the use of horses. When we learned about the efforts of the Kentucky Horse Park Mustang Troop, we were thrilled for the opportunity to support such a worthy program.”
