Martin Collins USA is delighted to announce their CLOPF fiber footing has been selected for four new riding arenas to be installed at the Florida Agricultural Center & Horse Park located in Ocala, Florida. The new arena plans include two show rings measuring 140’ X 240’, which can also be utilized as warm up arenas, and the two Grand Prix arenas measuring 250’ X 350’. Equestrian Footings and Services, Inc., an approved Martin Collins contractor, will install the CLOPF®fiber, and will also equip each arena with the Risohorse ebb and flow watering system.
“This is a game changer for the Florida Agricultural Center and Horse Park that will allow us to continue to attract world-class events and athletes. We’re proud to share this exciting news as we move into the winter season and welcome the equestrian community to visit and enjoy our facility,” said Carol Dover, Chair of the FHP and President & CEO of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association.
Olympian 3-day event rider Leslie Law is excited for the upcoming eventing season at the Florida Horse Park, “I have competed at venues around the world, and I always enjoy riding on Martin Collins surfaces. I am thrilled to know that the Florida Horse Park will be able to offer this premier riding surface for their competitors. A high quality footing, such as Martin Collins, makes all the difference when competing allowing for optimal conditions for our horses.”
“We at Martin Collins USA are thrilled to be the chosen footing for these exciting new projects at the Florida Horse Park, and we are looking forward to a very successful partnership in 2018 and beyond with them,” stated Glynnie Walford, CEO of Martin Collins USA. “CLOPF® fiber is designed to produce a root structure within the high-grade sand particles to provide the necessary stability, cushion, and energy return to the limbs of the horse. We believe in providing horses with a safe, sympathetic, and durable footing on which to work.”
The innovative Risohorse ebb and flow watering system ensures that the arenas stay properly hydrated. This system allows for a more consistent footing throughout competition. Through a series of underground pipes and sensors, water is automatically added or drained from the riding arenas depending on the environment.
“We are very excited to install a system for the Florida Horse Park that will provide constant moisture to the riding surface far more superior and conservative to traditional topical irrigation or water trucks. Combined with the Martin Collins CLOPF® footing, these new rings will be the best in the area,” stated Harold Bruce, President of Equestrian Footings & Services, Inc.
Dr. Judy Downer, the Equine Program Manager at College of Central Florida and USEF “R” Judge is also looking forward to the new plans, “I am very excited for the new Martin Collins arenas coming to the Florida Horse Park. This state-of-the-art footing is fabulous for the horses and having an additional arena will expand horse show capacity for the Park. This should bring bigger and better competitions to our area. As a competitor in dressage, I prefer to show at facilities with great footing and safe stabling. As a judge, good footing allows horses to work to their best ability. The new arenas are a great improvement for the Florida Horse Park, and I am looking forward to showing there in 2018.” Dr. Downer is the Vice President of the STRIDE Dressage Association and has hosted many shows at the Florida Horse Park.
