NASC Launches New Supplement Education Website

The National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) is protecting and enhancing the integrity of the animal health supplement industry once again. Their quest for the proper health and well-being of dogs, cats and horses is reflected in their prestigious membership program, where animal supplement suppliers engage in a process of continuous improvement and setting industry standards. With the development of the NASC Seal of Quality, NASC further distinguishes the animal supplements on the market making a positive impact on the industry.

NASC’s mission is twofold. On the supplement supplier side, the Council helps supplement brands effectively navigate the maze of both federal and state regulations and requirements governing pet supplement companies. Membership in NASC provides animal supplement providers access to regulatory guidance and in turn displays a commitment of quality that earns the trust of caring animal owners and consumers.

“By joining NASC, supplement companies are engaging in a process of continuous improvement by committing themselves to quality, continuous monitoring, and furthering research in order to enhance the well-being of animals around the globe,” says NASC President, Bill Bookout. “Furthermore, animal health supplement suppliers can turn to NASC as a resource to help their dog, cat and equine brands display their commitment to quality with the NASC Seal. Any company that displays the NASC Quality Seal has passed a thorough and comprehensive quality audit providing consumers a higher degree of confidence in the products they select.”

The National Animal Supplement Council has developed the NASC Seal of Quality. The presence of this stamp on animal supplements assures consumers that the product they are buying is continuously monitored and the company complies with the highest standards of quality. The Seal highlights products from reputable companies that have successfully completed a facility audit for implementation of specific written standards. The ultimate aim of the NASC quality seal program is to elevate the quality of the animal health supplement industry for the benefit of all stakeholders, including consumers, the industry, the regulatory agencies and, more importantly, the animals themselves.

In its continuing efforts to improve the quality of animal health supplements sold to consumers for the benefit of their horses, cats, dogs and other companion animals, the Council has formed partnerships with PetHealthLive (PetHealthLive.com) and HorseHealthLive (HorseHealthLive.com). There, animal owners can find a comprehensive suite of resources that address all their pet health concerns and issues.
