Luitpold Animal Health, manufacturer of Adequan® i.m. (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), today announced a new sponsorship with the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA). The new Adequan® 2D Challenge provides an additional $10,000 each to the 1D and 2D open world champions at the 2018 NBHA World Championships in Perry, Georgia, October 29 to November 3.
“It is an honor to have Luitpold as a new national partner of the NBHA and for them to provide this incentive to our world champions,” said NBHA Manager of Marketing Relations Len Carter. “Luitpold is making an exceptional investment in our World Championships in addition to the sport of barrel racing and we welcome them to our national partner team.”
“Barrel horses experience wear and tear on their joints, which can influence performance and significantly impact their careers,” said Allyn Mann, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Luitpold Animal Health. “For 30 years, Adequan i.m. has been used by leading veterinarians, top trainers and riders because of its ability to help improve joint function by reversing the disease cycle, repairing cartilage, restoring joint lubrication and reducing inflammation.” 1,2
“This partnership is a natural extension of our commitment to joint health in the horse and we are excited to be involved with the NBHA – the leading barrel racing association in the world,” added Mann. “We’d like to wish all the competitors at the 2018 World Championships good luck and continued success.”
Adequan i.m. is the only FDA approved equine polysulfated glycosaminoglycan (PSGAG) prescribed for the intramuscular treatment of non-infectious degenerative joint disease (DJD) of the carpal and hock joints in horses.
