Boulder, Colo.—May 23, 2013—As some of the world’s top horses in eventing tackled the intimidating Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event cross-country course, A Home for Every Horse honored Buckland Equine Rescue with a donation from partners Absorbine/W.F. Young, Inc., Purina Animal Nutrition, WEST NILE-INNOVATOR Vaccines, STRONGID Paste and WeatherBeeta Horse Clothing.

The donation included many products that will help Buckland Equine Rescue’s horses thrive. To protect a lucky rescue horse from the elements, WeatherBeeta, with top international eventer and Team WeatherBeeta member Sinead Halpin on hand, donated an Original turnout blanket that bears the A Home for Every Horse logo. WEST NILE-INNOVATOR Vaccines will provide vaccines to help protect the rescue’s 34 horses and STRONGID Paste will provide parasite control.

W.F. Young’s donation contains products from Absorbine and sister company Equine America designed to promote horse health and comfort. Included in the donation are an array of grooming, fly control and muscle/joint care including Flex+ Max joint supplement, Ultrashield fly masks and fly sprays, Fungasol Shampoo and B-L Comfort and Recovery Support.

“Rescues are donation-based, so what we got at Rolex keeps us from having to lay out resources,” said Chris Takacs of Buckland Equine Rescue. “It means a huge amount. It’s really good to see that these companies are involved with the rescue effort. So many times, the horses that aren’t in the spotlight fall through the cracks and those are the ones that really need the help.

As part of their participation in A Home for Every Horse, Buckland Equine Rescue will also receive a donation of feed from Purina Animal Nutrition. This year, Purina Animal Nutrition has pledged up to $150,000 in free feed to A Home for Every Horse participating shelters, like Buckland Equine Rescue. Horse lovers can help Purina reach their $150,000 goal by visiting www.helpfeedrescuehorses.com.

“Equine rescues work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome the nation’s homeless horses,” said Equine Network Group Publisher Dave Andrick. “We’re so glad that A Home for Every Horse can facilitate donations like this that allow the organizations like Buckland Equine Rescue to devote their resources to horses who truly need help.”

A Home for Every Horse is a joint effort with The American Horse Council’s Unwanted Horse Coalition, which seeks to place, foster and sponsor America’s homeless horses. Partners of A Home for Every Horse include Tractor Supply Company, Purina Animal Nutrition, WeatherBeeta, Cavallo Horse & Rider Inc., the Bureau of Land Management and Absorbine/W.F. Young, Inc. Nonprofit equine rescue organizations can post free listings on Equine.com, the industry’s largest website for buying and selling horses, trailers and farms. The Equine Network is using its connection with more than 1.5 million horse owners each month to promote the program.
