In honor of National Meet A Horse Day, which is celebrated the third Friday each July (July 17, 2020), the American Horse Council (AHC) is pleased to announce a fun, social media contest to encourage promotion of horses. Beginning Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 17, anyone who posts a picture of him/herself with a horse doing a favorite activity, along with no more than 280 characters telling us why that horse means so much to him/her—and includes #AmericanHorseCouncil and #MeetAHorse—will be entered to win a John Deere S240Lawn Tractor with 42-inch deck valued at $2,600. See the AHC website www.horsecouncil.org for contest rules and details!

The United Horse Coalition (UHC) and Equine Welfare Data Collective (EWDC) are excited to announce the July 2020 Data Drive. Any EWDC eligible organization that completes the current EWDC survey by July 15, 2020, and is (or becomes) a UHC nonprofit member will be entered in a raffle to win a new Stihl leaf blower! Organizations that already meet the requirements will be automatically entered. UHC nonprofit members enjoy benefits such as membership to A Home for Every Horse and a listing on Equine.com, access to the A Home for Every Horse training portal, UHC educational materials for responsible ownership, an invitation to participate in the UHC Annual Meeting, and more! Complete the EWDC survey, become a UHC member, and learn more at: unitedhorsecoalition.org

About the American Horse Council

As the national association representing all segments of the horse industry in Washington, D.C., the American Horse Council works daily to represent equine interests and opportunities. Organized in 1969, the AHC promotes and protects the industry by communicating with Congress, federal agencies, the media and the industry on behalf of all horse related interests each and every day.

The AHC is member-supported by individuals and organizations representing virtually every facet of the horse world from owners, breeders, veterinarians, farriers, breed registries and horsemen’s associations to horse shows, race tracks, rodeos, commercial suppliers and state horse councils.
