Sponsorship Department Internships Offered at the NRHA Futurity

The NRHA offers a Sponsorship Department Internship each year at reining’s premier event, the 2013 NRHA Futurity & Adequan North American Affiliate Championship Show, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The National Reining Horse Association’s (NRHA) Sponsorship Department is vital in growing and maintaining working relationships with equine and Western industry leaders from a diverse cross section of manufacturers, corporations, retailers, breeding/training facilities and publications. The NRHA offers a Sponsorship Department Internship each year at reining’s premier event, the 2013 NRHA Futurity & Adequan North American Affiliate Championship Show, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The application deadline is Oct. 21, 2013.

The intern will work with Sponsorship Department personnel to maintain relationships with 40+ Corporate Partners and event sponsors. Internship responsibilities will include assisting in fulfilling sponsorship obligations, producing special events, carrying out promotional activities and many other activities.

The Sponsorship Intern will be required to assist with all functions of the department, including early mornings and lengthy days, which are common during major events. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, and also be organized, innovative, enthusiastic, persevering and dependable.

Anyone is able to apply; junior- and senior-level college students working on Agricultural Business, Agricultural Communications or Animal Science degrees are preferred. The candidate must have his/her own transportation.

Assist with set up of the show, including hanging arena banners, setting promotional material and organizing special awards. You will assist with Sponsorship Department-hosted events throughout the show such as draw parties, exhibitor parties and VIP receptions. You will also assist with other show functions as needed.

Stipend based on length of internship (daily rate of $45/day, plus lodging and reimbursement for travel to and from show). Sponsorship Department will assist you with college credit.

Apply by Oct. 21, 2013 for the internship, which will run approximately from Nov. 24-Dec. 9. Please note that you cannot serve as an intern and compete in the same show. Resumes and cover letters for the internship should be submitted to:
