LEXINGTON, KY — NOV. 2, 2012 — The United States Equestrian Federation and Georgetown College are excited to announce a long term strategic partnership that will combine the academic and facility resources available at Georgetown College with the membership of the largest multi-breed and discipline organization in the United States. To kick off the partnership, Georgetown College will offer USEF members, employees and their children an opportunity to receive a $10,000 annual scholarship upon admittance as a full-time student.

Fifty scholarships will be available and will provide equestrian enthusiasts from the U.S. and abroad access to a resource for higher education, exceptional training for officials and riders, and admittance to the Kentucky Horse Park. This scholarship is open to any degree program and is renewable for up to eight semesters, provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress and continues to be a member of the USEF.

To apply for the USEF scholarship, students must submit the standard Georgetown College admissions application and indicate their current active USEF member or employee status on the application. To qualify, all applicants must have been a USEF member on or before November 1, 2012. Any student seeking admission in the Fall semester should apply by February 1st of that year; any student seeking admission in the Spring 2013 semester should submit an application no later than December 15, 2012.
