Zoetis Launches New STRONGID® C and C 2X Risk Factors Campaign

A new campaign for STRONGID® C and C 2X offers education about parasite risk factors and user testimonials from top riders who explain why they rely on these parasite-control solutions.

MADISON, NJ — APR. 23, 2013 — A new campaign for STRONGID® C and C 2X offers education about parasite risk factors and user testimonials from top riders who explain why they rely on these parasite-control solutions to ensure their horses are ready to perform.

A new brochure and website, along with print and online advertisements, feature the National Reining Horse Association’s lifetime member Matt Palmer; hunter/jumper rider, trainer, clinician and judge Archie Cox; and Four Star eventing rider, trainer, coach and clinician Lynn Symansky.

“As a professional event rider and trainer, I not only frequently travel with my own horses to train and compete, but I also have a steady stream of client horses that come in for training,” Symansky says. “Keeping my entire barn on STRONGID C 2X puts me at ease, knowing they are all in good condition and can work at their best.”

Palmer, who also is a member of Fédération Equestre Internationale, says STRONGID C 2X takes the worry out of his parasite-control program and allows him to concentrate on his job.

“I need my horses mentally and physically ready to perform every time in the ring,” Palmer says. “We travel a lot to train and compete. Knowing my horses are on STRONGID C 2X makes all the difference.”

On the new website, horse owners can read testimonials and share stories about how STRONGID C or C 2X has helped improve performance. Selected stories are featured on the home page along with the top rider testimonials.

Also on the site, a quiz helps pinpoint certain risk factors that may call for daily deworming to help maintain health and peak performance:

  • Boarding and training barns
  • Movement on/off farm for training or competitions
  • High-risk age groups such as foals, weanlings and geriatric horses
  • High stocking densities (more than two horses per acre)
  • Non-rotated pastures
  • Continuous parasite exposure
  • Horses with insulin resistance or Cushing’s Disease
  • Confirmed fecal egg count of 200 to 500 eggs per gram

Managing these risk factors and keeping parasite levels under control helps horses perform at their best, because parasites steal nutrition, energy and good health from horses. Left unchecked, parasites can cause damage to vital organs, impair growth and performance, and may cause colic. A daily dose of STRONGID C or C 2X helps break the cycle of parasite infection with the power of prevention* and control.

Cox says STRONGID C 2X is the only product he requires his customers’ horses to use daily.

“STRONGID C 2X has been an integral part of my feeding and parasite-control program for 11 years,” says Cox, whose boarding facilities in Southern California have shared turnout and a high stocking density. “My veterinarian and I made the decision to feed all the horses in my barn STRONGID C 2X daily dewormer.”
