Ariat’s revolutionary Nitro™ technology includes an innovative, iridescent composite frame which supports and stabilizes the midfoot to prevent excessive twisting, yet bends freely to allow forefoot flexibility. The innovative design of the Vortex is the result of extensive research and development in partnership with Ariat equestrian athletes who were with fitted with pressure sensors and recorded during test rides. The research revealed that varying levels of traction are necessary for optimal grip in the stirrup. Additionally, the company commissioned an independent third party to test the Vortex. Tests revealed that Shock Shield technology provides 30% more shock absorbency in the heel and the Nitro midsole offers 33% more shock absorption in the forefoot. Exceptional cushioning delivers reduced joint stress and helps prevent athlete injury.
