SPILLERS has introduced a new molasses-free fiber with added texture and flavor to indulge horses’ tastebuds and extend eating time, without growing waistlines.

SPILLERS Fibre Lite Molasses Free is a low-calorie soft chopped fiber feed with the flavorsome additions of grass nuts and garlic but no added sugar. Used as a double handful at mealtimes, it bulks the bucket out to extend eating time, supporting digestive health and mental wellbeing.

SPILLERS is supporting retailers with the launch of SPILLERS Fibre Lite Molasses Free by running a special consumer promotion: from 18 January 2021 for six weeks your customers can benefit from £2.50 off each bag and you can take advantage of enhanced margins, while stocks last on flashed stocks only.

New research has shown that meals containing at least 15% of short chopped fibre or chaff can prolong feeding time by up to 50%, improving mental and physical health in the process.1

“Chopped fibdf is usually consumed more slowly than many feeds,” said Clare Barfoot RNutr, Marketing and Research and Development Director at SPILLERS. “This new study shows how the addition of chopped fibdf can significantly decrease the rate of intake of that meal. Longer, slower eating periods have considerable health and welfare benefits, especially for horses that do not have free access to forage, so it makes absolute sense for your customers to always add an appropriate double handful of chaff at mealtimes.”

New SPILLERS Fibre Lite Molasses Free has been formulated to fulfill this role perfectly and is suitable for every horse or pony on the yard. It’s a low-calorie fibre blend with short chopped alfalfa and straw to help slow eating time. Molasses-free and with no added sugar it is also low in starch to support digestive health and minimize any risk of excitability. Added grass nuts and garlic enhance taste and texture, which together with the softness of the chop make it extremely palatable and ideal as an accompaniment to a compound feed or balancer.

New SPILLERS Fibre Lite Molasses Free joins SPILLERS Alfalfa-Pro Fibre and SPILLERS Conditioning Fibre to provide fiber options for all: SPILLERS Alfalfa-Pro Fibre is a high oil alfalfa blend for optimum condition and digestive support while SPILLERS Conditioning Fibre is the optimum choice to build condition and shine from within.
