Starting Wednesday, June 23, the Mustang Heritage Foundation (MHF) will host an entirely virtual Extreme Mustang Makeover. Originally slated to be held in Lexington, Kentucky, the event’s now virtual format allows mustang fans and horse lovers from around the world to watch the event online free of charge.
During the action-packed virtual Extreme Mustang Makeover, adult and youth competitors will showcase the trust they have built with previously untouched wild horses in approximately 100 days of training. Fans can watch online to see an impressive display of athleticism and versatility as trainers compete for more than $40,000 in cash and prizes. In addition to the competition, fans can also apply to bid on competing adult horses in the corresponding online auction, hosted by Champion Horse Sales. The auction will open to approved bidders June 23–27. Listings for each horse are online now for interested buyers to view updated photos, detailed descriptions, and trainer contact information.
All potential bidders must be approved to bid by submitting a bidder application before noon CST on June 25. All applicants must be 18 years or older and able to provide a BLM-approved facility. Extreme Mustang Makeover events are produced by the Mustang Heritage Foundation, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse & Burro Program, to showcase the versatility and trainability of the American Mustang.
