A former NFL defensive end, Allen grew up with tremendous respect for his family’s commitment to service in our Armed Forces. In March 2009, Jared took part in a USO tour to Iraq, and it changed his life forever. Humbled by the dedication, commitment, and sacrifices our men and women make every day to protect our freedom, he knew he had to return to the States and give back in a big way. Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors was born to provide functional homes and give a sense of security and independence to wounded veterans and their families. Since its inception in 2009, Jared has changed the lives of 9 severely injured heroes with the support of skilled carpenters and construction workers, many of whom are veterans themselves.
