2013 IPRA National Finals Rodeo Showcase Champion and lifelong horseman Bobby Kerr will headline a unique first-time event Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth Texas. Joined by international stars Jerry Diaz and Dan James, “A Night with Bobby Kerr and Friends” will present a night of horsemanship, live music, and pure entertainment unlike any other equestrian performance.
Over a 40-plus-year career, Kerr founded the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and has specialized in cutting, reining, roping, and working cow horse training and showing. Kerr travels the nation performing at professional rodeos and events such as Road to the Horse. He was featured in a Nat Geo Wild reality mini-series “Mustang Millionaire,” which aired in December 2013. Fellow “Mustang Millionaire” stars Travis Dittmer, Mary Miller Jordan, J-Dub Weisiger, and “Extreme” Wylene Wilson will also perform, each bringing their individual flair to the performance.
Fellow headliner Jerry Diaz is a fourth generation charro and founder of the Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza, carrying on the 150-year old traditions of his great-grandfather. His horsemanship and roping performances are full of the colorful costumes, beautiful horses, and skilled horsemanship unique to charro traditions. In addition to performing, he will face off with his longtime friend Bobby Kerr in a special “Vaquero Challenge.”
Also starring in the performance is Dan James, Australian performer and horse training phenomenon of Double Dan Horsemanship. He was the 2012 Road to the Horse winner as part of Team Australia, performed Roman riding at the 2010 World Equestrian Games opening ceremony and travels the country with his amazing team for horsemanship clinics and performances. James was also featured in “Mustang Millionaire” and won fourth place and fan favorite.
With such a diverse and talented range of performers, “A Night with Bobby Kerr and Friends” will be a one-of-a-kind evening of entertainment. Never before have these incredible performers been united for a single event.
