HRTV, The Network for Horse Sports, has been awarded a 2014 Bronze Telly Award for its in-depth feature, via HRTV.com, of music legend Shania Twain, entitled "Shania Twain: The Love of Horses," which premiered during December 2013.
HRTV's first Telly Award was earned in the category of "Internet/Online Video Entertainment." (To view the feature, please click here http://www.hrtv.com/shania/.)
"It's very gratifying for HRTV, and our creative, talented team, to receive a Telly Award," said Scott Daruty, President of HRTV. "It remains our goal to expand HRTV.com's content with compelling and diverse programming, and the Shania Twain feature underscores that commitment."
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world.
A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work--entries do not compete against each other--rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit.
HRTV caught up with the international superstar and discussed her devout love for horses, at her "Shania: Still the One" show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
The sit-down with Shania illuminated her intense passion for horses, and highlighted her friendship with legendary actress--and fellow horse lover--Bo Derek. Derek encouraged and refined Shania's introduction of horses into her shows.
HRTV.com's feature included an interview with Derek, encapsulating Twain's affection for horses, as well as comments from trainer Ramon Becerra, who conditioned Twain's horses for the show. The Vegas show includes Twain's serenading of her on-stage horse, Slick, with her ever-popular song "Still the One." In the HRTV.com feature, Shania characterized it as her most "precious" moment in the show.
