HRTV Offers Thanksgiving Feast of English Programming

Arcadia, CA, Nov. 19 -- HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will present equestrian fans with a bountiful holiday feast of English programming on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22.

ARCADIA, CA — NOV. 20, 2012 — HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will present equestrian fans with a bountiful holiday feast of English programming on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, when six hours of exciting action begins at 6 p.m. ET.

The block of six English offerings is an HRTV encore of hour-long outstanding competitions from the U.S., Germany, and the United Kingdom.

The shows will commence at the conclusion of HRTV’s live Thoroughbred coverage on Turkey Day, which includes action from Churchill Downs, Aqueduct, Betfair Hollywood Park, Fair Grounds (Opening Day), Calder, and more.

The six hours of U.S. and International events world class events appeal to a wide-range of horse fans. Kicking off the coverage will be the first of three shows from the 2012 World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany. The Driving Marathon CAIO, the four-in-hand competition that tests the strength, courage, communication and command will air at 6 p.m. ET, with the decorated Chester Weber representing the USA.

More action from the Aachen championships will air later that evening, with the 2012 Aachen Grand Prix Dressage Freestyle CDIO (9 p.m. ET), highlighting horses and riding executing deft maneuvers against a musical background, and the 2012 Aachen Eventing CICO 3, the fast-paced Cross Country phase, will air at 11 p.m. ET.

The “Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup 2011,” the most festive of the Polo Cups that draws 5,000 people — including Prince Phillip — attended to watch Les Lions and Salkeld battle to a dramatic finish, will be shown at 7 p.m. ET, and the $200,000 HITS Lamborghini competition from Thermal, CA, will follow at 8 p.m. ET. The $200,000 Lamborghini Grand Prix of the Desert annually serves as a crucial qualifier for the Pfizer Million and the winner takes home the coveted $60,000 first-place check.

The British Show Jumping Festival 2011, the ultimate National Championships from the U.K., will air at 10 p.m. ET.
