International Racing Adventure, Tropical Vacations and World Series Tickets to be Auctioned at Belmont Stakes Charity Celebration

Anyone who has ever dreamed of going racing in Europe, enjoying an exotic tropical vacation, or watching the World Series from a field-level box will get their chance to win such trips at the Belmont Stakes Charity Celebration on Thursday, June 5.

This year’s celebration will once again be held at the acclaimed Bar Americain in New York City. The evening will feature “The Foods of Bobby Flay” and a live auction of unique items and experiences.

Among the auction items generously donated by sponsors are a European racing experience that includes tickets to the QIPCO British Champions Day and Irish Champions Weekend, as well as a visit to Juddmonte Farms to meet the accomplished British racehorse turned stallion Frankel; a vacation at Tucker’s Point Resort in Bermuda; field-level boxes to all of the American League 2014 World Series games; a vacation in a private villa at the Casa De Campo Resort in the Dominican Republic; a private fighter jet experience for two; tickets to the U.S. Open Golf; a New York City shopping experience; and stallion seasons to Mucho Macho Man, Lookin at Lucky and Medaglia d’Oro.

Proceeds from the auction and the Belmont Stakes Charity Celebration will benefit the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation, which is the nation’s leading source of private equine research funding and helps all breeds of horses, and the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, which is the largest equine sanctuary in the world and is devoted to the rescue, retirement, rehabilitation and retraining of Thoroughbreds.

“This auction features some very unique items that should appeal to people who enjoy exotic travel experiences and various sports, including Thoroughbred racing,” said Edward L. Bowen, president of Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. “All of our attendees, and especially those fortunate enough to submit winning bids, will be helping these two important charities enhance the health and welfare of horses.”

Bar Americain is located at 152 W. 52nd Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues in New York City.

Tickets for the charity celebration are priced at $350 per person and can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/flaytix.
