Training with the Stars: Top 10 Finalists Revealed in Win A Day Contest

Ten cross-training enthusiasts are another step closer to winning an exclusive day of private training with a four-star eventer and Grand Prix dressage rider thanks to Practical Horseman and Dressage Today’s “Training with the Stars: Win a Day with Boyd and Silva Martin” contest, in partnership with Purina. One lucky winner will receive the grand prize: a personalized clinic at their barn or another suitable facility for themselves and up to nine of their friends.

The 10 finalists selected by the editorial staff are Carol Brewer, Lindsey Burns, Patti Gruber, Pamela Longley, Dorie Mayfield, Laura Robinson, Allison Sandifer, Susan Selvey, Daphne Soares and Sabrina Wetzel. Each were chosen from more than 646 total entries based on the uniqueness of their 250-word essays. All of these finalists submitted videos demonstrating their horsemanship skills. The grand prize winner will be announced in mid February.

“Practical Horseman is delighted to partner with Dressage Today for this cross-discipline educational contest,” said Sandra Oliynyk, editor of Practical Horseman.” Boyd and Silva Martin are not only talented riders but exceptional trainers and will offer the winner and their friends a wealth of knowledge in both dressage and jumping.”

“In this joint effort, we received so many great entries making it tough to narrow it down to our top 10 finalists,” says Jennifer Mellace, editor of Dressage Today. “Whoever wins will have the experience of a lifetime with two of equestrian sport’s finest.”
